Stellar Wind || Chinese Han Dynasty Jian

A simple elegance, a geometric charm.
Symbol of a time, an art, and a culture that reaches back millennia, though remains forever recognizable for its timeless designs.

Stylistically, the Han Dynasty Jian is one of my personal favourite straight swords of history for its clean sleekness.

A calm sword, yet ever-ready even so.
Its mastery is one resembling that of a dance. Quick thrusts, like mantis strikes, flowing into wide sweeping arcs, and impossibly beautiful coiled spins releasing into the unfurling of the entire body. The Jian is merely the extension of the being, a reminder of why so many arts of this culture are inspired by the beasts and crawlers of the wilds.

To this aim, Stellar Wind is a homage to the rich lineage and history of art, poetry, dance, and war engineers of this historical behemoth.
It is made in effort to recreate the impeccable craftsmanship of these ancient artisans; the sensation of precision, sleekness, symmetry, an unbroken amalgam of curvature and proportion within straight lines and sharp contours, a thing of visible sheer performance, like an ancient kingdom era motorcycle.

-A blade of mighty Hard Maple
-Hilt fittings of Black Walnut
-Supple 4oz leather wrap about the grip
-Boiled linseed oil to awaken the colours
-A double-seal coat of natural shellac

Stellar Wind measures 36" / 92 cm in total length,
led by a 26" / 67cm long blade,
with 6.5" / 16cm of grip at the hilt.
